These businesses tend to have short hours built around lunch and early dinner rather than late-night service, so checking the listed hours before heading out in Durham saves a wasted trip. Seating is often limited or first-come, and many locations lean toward takeout or delivery rather than dining in. Prices are generally lower than full-service restaurants in the same category, which makes this group a reliable option for a fast, inexpensive meal across North Carolina. Portions can be smaller at food-court counters than at a stand-alone restaurant, so ordering two items is common for a full meal. Many of these businesses are independently owned even inside a shared food hall, so hours, accepted payment methods and whether a counter takes online orders can differ from stall to stall within the same building.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–9 pm. Durham is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Durham is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Comfortable open space with food and drinks galore right in downtown Durham. Had a blast checking the vibes, which were cool and busy and chillaxed. Settled on a Szechuan lamb sausage breakfast bagel, which was hot, messy, and delicious. The flat white was perfectly done. Mix and match your desired flavors while you’re there! Staff kept thanks clean while being friendly as heck.

Loved this place! The local smoked fish sandwich was delicious, and the local craft beer was a perfect match. Great atmosphere and a nice spot to experience Durham’s local food scene.

We ordered April flowers, May showers, and two other drinks we can’t remember the names of. The bartenders are great, fast and efficient!

I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and really enjoyed the variety at Durham Food Hall. There were multiple spots I would happily order from on a return visit—Mexican, Asian, burgers, seafood, a full bar, ice cream, coffee, and more. It’s the kind of place where everyone in a group can find something they like. My wife is gluten‑free, and Local Seafood was a standout for her. They use a dedicated fryer, so she was able to enjoy fried Calabash‑style seafood and fries—something she rarely gets to have. Her food was flavorful, and her order was ready in about 10 minutes. I went with Corner Yaki and had the Karaage Bowl, which was a really good chicken-and-rice dish. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming. It was busy at lunchtime, but lines moved quickly. Finding seating took a little effort, and because it’s one big open room, it can get loud with very little to absorb sound. Where I think there’s room for improvement is in the facilities and general upkeep. There are only four single restrooms, and one is staff‑only, so there was a line every time I walked by. For a place made up entirely of food vendors, larger restroom facilities would make a big difference. Cleanline
